Bon Jovi at A1-Ring, Zeltweg, Austria Link to heading
I was there with a camera on August 15, 2000, when Bon Jovi played the A1-Ring in Zeltweg, Austria, as part of the European leg of the Crush Tour [1]. At the time, the band was riding the momentum of Crush and the breakout success of It’s My Life.
It was one of those summer concerts where everything felt a bit larger than life: the crowd, the lights, the noise, and the feeling that you were lucky to be standing there with a camera in hand.
The set blended new material with the songs everybody came for: It’s My Life, Livin’ on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, and the rest of the crowd favourites [2].
Reamonn supported the show that night [1].

The A1-Ring in Zeltweg (now known as the Red Bull Ring), made for an unusual but memorable concert backdrop. For me, it remains one of those gigs that lives in memory as much as in the negatives.
